Biography
Sadaf Ahmadi (b. 1985) is a multidisciplinary Iranian-Swedish artist educated in Tehran at Sooreh art university and Karnameh Institute of Arts and Culture, under the mentorship of Abbas Kiarostami. After having worked for 16 years in Iranian cinema, as a director, assistant director and actor, Sadaf Ahmadi moved to Sweden in 2020 and continued with visual art in multidisciplinary arts now based in the city of Borås.
Ahmadi’s artistic practice explores themes of freedom of expression, femininity and the lived experiences of women and dissidents in Iran, often combining traditional aesthetics with contemporary political and spiritual narratives.
